Konstantin Kosev
Konstantin Kosev graduated from Sofia University with a degree in History. He worked as a doctoral student at the Institute of History at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In 1965 he defended his scientific degree "Candidate of Historical Sciences". He specialized in Munich and Bonn. Between 1973 and 1978 he was Deputy Director of the Institute of History and the Unified Center of History of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He was a lecturer in history at the Faculty of History of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". In 1977 he became a doctor of historical sciences, and since 1979 - a professor. Since 1989 he has been a corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Honorary Doctor of VTU "St. St. Cyril and Methodius". In 1990 he was appointed Minister of Education and Deputy Prime Minister. Member of the 7th Grand National Assembly 1990-91. From 1991 to 1997 he was again a lecturer at Sofia University, and since 2003 he has been an academician. Between 1996 and 2007 he was Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is the author of 8 monographs, 15 studies and many scientific articles. His scientific interests are related to the Revival, the struggle for national independence and the activities of our revolutionaries, the Liberation (1877-78). and indirectly his role in the Bulgarian liberation.
