The names of women's physiological conditions represent a very interesting and curious field, which some authors in Bulgarian linguistics have dealt with fragmentarily, touching only on certain aspects of its content. This study is the first large-scale and detailed work to examine all the names of women's reproductive functions in the Bulgarian language, i.e., the material on the subject has been comprehensively excerpted. For the reasons mentioned above, this monograph is not only relevant in terms of its subject matter, but also makes an extremely valuable contribution to the study of the Bulgarian language in several areas of linguistics – mainly in lexical semantics and lexicology, but also in dialectology, ethnolinguistics, and mytholinguistics. Moreover, due to its interdisciplinary nature, it also finds application in the fields of ethnology, cultural studies, and folk psychology.
