Summary
The manual depicts the anatomy of the small pelvis from different angles, comparing the classical view with the laparoscopic view. The general section describes the technique of endoscopic suturing, as well as the various energy sources that are essential in surgical procedures. The special section examines surgical techniques for benign diseases, as well as new modern procedures used in the treatment of static diseases of the female reproductive system. Special attention is paid to radical minimally invasive robotic surgery in the treatment of endometrial carcinoma and cervical carcinoma. In addition, the use of robot-assisted surgery in preserving the fertility of women with cancer, as well as in supra-radical surgery in patients with residual tumors (radical parametrectomy), is discussed. Complications in minimally invasive surgery are highly specific and, unfortunately, sometimes disproportionately severe. They are important for understanding the potential difficulties and making the wrong decisions, which is why they are included in a separate chapter. In 2014, HIFU technology was introduced in Bulgaria for the treatment of tumors of the pancreas, kidneys, liver, and also for the treatment of myoma disease. Resuscitation and anesthesiological measures in patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery are specific and are discussed in a separate chapter.
