Summary

Due to the limited possibilities of historiography at the moment and the very nature of the subject of research in Part 2 of the book, the author limits himself to a moderate selection of content in terms of volume, which, however, covers all the essential episodes in the life and work of Dr. Chomakov. The archival materials are supplemented by a number of little-known or completely unknown newspaper publications, some of which have not yet been attributed to a specific author, but which are important for revealing his ideas and actions. Several texts about and by his descendants are also included. The documents are not evenly distributed over time. Most of them are from the seventh decade of the 19th century, as these were the most important years in Dr. Chomakov's life.

Аbout The Author

• Iliya Todev: He is the author of more than 15 monographs, 50 papers and studies. His researches are in the fields of Bulgarian Renaissance, Russian history, history of the Ottoman Empire, the Eastern Question and the National Idea. In 1983 he defended a doctoral thesis on "The Church struggles in Thrace until 1878" and in 2003 he acquired degree of Doctor of historical sciences after defending a thesis on "Dr. Stoyan Chomakov (1819-1893). Life, deed, descendants”. He is a member of the editorial board of the Bulgarian Historical Review. He has completed scientific specializations at the Russian Academy of Sciences, the British Academy and the National Center for Scientific Research, France. Todev also participated in numerous research projects and forums. "
