Summary

The book contains philosophical and artistic essays by the prominent Bulgarian aesthetician Prof. Atanas Iliev, written up to 1944. Unbound by the canons of any particular philosophical school, he sets forth his reflections on the nature of art, Bulgarian national psychology, and the works of Bulgarian and foreign authors. The book also includes unpublished documents from Atanas Iliev’s archive: correspondence between him and the Russian philosopher Nikolai Lossky, Elisaveta Bagryana, Konstantin Galabov, and others.
