The Arete theory, developed in a comprehensive study, is an interdisciplinary scientific thesis that finds expression in various spheres of life; with regard to the building and defense of the Bulgarian state, it is intended to foster and uphold (for centuries) a value system for behavior beneficial to both the individual and the group along the lines of “family-property-state.” According to the foundational work Arete, the system of virtues is structured into five rays—gathered in the “Star of Arete”: Faith, Power, Honor, Labor, Love, with their corresponding personifications: God-King-Warrior-Steward-Man. These find their application in state-building through the unbroken connection between the historical realities of the successive eras in European history.
