The family and intergenerational relations are the subject of research by many scientific disciplines due to the large number of diverse aspects of this basic unit of the social system. This collection is an expression of the efforts of the Institute for Population and Human Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to apply an interdisciplinary approach to capture a comprehensive picture and outline contemporary trends in the development of the family institution in our country. It collects and arranges by thematic areas the reports from the scientific conference "Family and Intergenerational Solidarity" held in Sofia on October 17-18, 2012.
