Local and state religious policies are placed in the context of Balkan history to explain religious phenomena. The ethnographic method of work enriches the subject with details that reveal folk culture and logic, as well as the transformation that occurred during communism. Geography in the subject shows the common and the different, using the historical context without which understanding is impossible. Faith unites sacred topos and connects people. Travelling relics also serve such a function. Present is not only the movement of pilgrims but also the mobility of relics.
