The collection contains extended texts of papers presented at the scientific conference "The Storyteller and the World of Folklore," dedicated to Prof. Albena Georgieva, PhD (1954–2024). The conference was held on October 24 and 25, 2024, at the initiative of the "Anthropology of Oral Traditions" section at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The texts are organized around key thematic areas, most of which Albena Georgieva worked on – folklore literature in the past and today, folklore and religiosity, images of otherness in traditional and contemporary culture, relationships between oral and written forms of expression, folklore and literature, stories and storytelling, urban spaces and migrant experience, local traditions and contemporary cultural practices.
