Dr. Jordan Mouhovski is a single or first author of large number articles including review articles in high IF journals or in scientific books. His versatile interests are directed to multi-disciplinary area covering solid state physics, physical chemistry and electrochemistry. He received the degree in atomic physics from Sofia University in 1967. He got PhD degree in chemistry in 1982. From 1984 he has been working as a Head of Crystal Growth Laboratory in the newly established at that time Institute of Applied Mineralogy and its successors – Central Laboratory of Mineralogy and Crystallography (1995-2010) and Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography (after 2010) where he became Associate Professor (2007). Here his scientific activity enlarged on the growth of various single and mixed fluoride crystal systems and exploration of their properties. He developed efficient methods for deep purification of the starting materials and overall optimization of the growing technique itself and he is renowned as a world-famous specialist.
