The present work was prepared to print 90 years after the publication of the Album – Almanac Macedonia (1931), which is considered the starting point of summarizing studies in Bulgaria, dedicated to Macedonia and the Macedonian Question. The album was made by the National Committee of the Union of Macedonian Emigrant Organizations, but its unspoken inspirer and executor was the Macedonian Scientific Institute, which not to late since its establishment (1923) has accumulated rich publishing experience and authority. The participation of many eminent members of its, including foreign scientists, in this remarkable for its time publication, was logical, in view of its statutory goals – to collect historical materials about the liberation struggles of the Macedonian Bulgarians and to prepare a systematic and detailed history of them.
