Summary
This book uses data on the Eastern Front from the Russian and German sources mentioned above.
In the book, for brevity, only the generalized rank “general” is used, without specifying whether this is lieutenant general, colonel general, etc. For the same person, when he is mentioned again, only his surname is used.
As an appendix to this book, brief biographical data and photographs of military leaders who have taken an active part in the final phase of the war are given. 10 German, 8 Soviet, and one representative each of the USA and Great Britain have found a place in the appendix.
The final, concluding chapter of the book attempts to assess the cost of victory and the cost of defeat. This task is too difficult a and much argued. The same can be said about many of the events during World War II.
