The anthropomorphic vessels from Kapitan Andreevo, which form the focus of this study, can be understood according to the conceptual framework outlined above. They represent previously unknown iconographic imagery that portrays a hypostasis of the Mother Goddess, which must have been venerated in this area, the confluence of the rivers Maritsa and Tundzha. The use of this symbolic imagery connected a large group of people who identified themselves as a community because of it. Taking the vessels out of the village to the ritual grounds was probably seen as a requirement for summoning certain regenerative forces that would bring benefits to the community, as well as a means of engaging with the souls of ancestors there.
