The author examines the so-called "Macedonian language" from a sociolinguistic perspective. Based on rich factual material extracted from the press of the Republic of Macedonia, she proves the main tendency towards the displacement of Bulgarian literary language elements and their replacement with Serbianisms or neologisms based on the Serbian model. The valuable contribution of the monograph consists in the fact that it scientifically argues the position that the artificial construction of a "Macedonian nation" is a step towards the final Serbianization of Vardar Macedonia.
