Summary

The monograph is dedicated to electrets – electrical analogues of permanent magnets. The book explains the essence of the electret effect, defines the main parameters of electrets, gives brief historical information. The methods for obtaining electrets, for measuring their characteristics, the influence of some factors for obtaining stable electrets, as well as various theoretical models are considered. A special place is devoted to the practical application of electrets.

Аbout The Author

• Georgi Mekishev: Georgi Mekishev graduated in Physics from Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" in 1966, where he taught from 1968 to 2009. He holds a doctorate in physics (1981 - LETI) and an associate professor of general physics (1986). Works in the field of electrets. He is a co-author of numerous publications, incl. of 5 copyright certificates, two collections of problems in general physics and chapters in the monographs Trends in Material Science Research (ed. by BMCaruta, New Yorkq Nova Science Publishers, Inc., 2006, pp. 219–244) and Polypropylene (ed. by F. Dogan, Rijeka, Croatia, In Tech, 2012, pp. 161–184). He is a member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, an honorary member of the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria, a member of the American Nanos Association.
