On January 26, 2023, the Pastoral Center of the Catholic Parish of St. Joseph in Sofia hosted
the academic conference “THE BULGARIANS OF THE BANAT – CULTURAL HERITAGE, LANGUAGE, AND LITERATURE.” As
is tradition, the organizers were the Association of Banat Bulgarians in Bulgaria – Falmis and the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum – BAS.
In two sessions: “From the Historical and Literary Past of the Banat Bulgarians” and “Education,
Identity, Cultural Heritage,” presentations were given by Prof. Dr. Marinela Mladenova, Prof. Dr. Lilia Ilieva, Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Magdalena Abadzhieva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yonka Parvanova, Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Kaloyan Tsvetkov and Ivaylo Ivanov, Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Elena Vodinchar, Alexander Lavrov, and Svetlana Karadzova.
