Summary
At present, there is no significant and scientifically based historical research devoted entirely to the medical history of the Haskovo region. There are no monographs tracing the institutional development of healthcare, the biographies of local doctors, or the socio-cultural dimensions of medical practice in the context of the local community. This study aims to fill this gap by offering the first systematic attempt to reconstruct the medical past of the Haskovo region, not only as institutional history, but also as human, cultural, and professional memory.
