This volume on Bulgarian coastal flies consists of the parts accepted for publication in Fauna of Bulgaria: a general section with morphological notes, more or less valid for all three families; data on the systematics, biology, ecology, and zoogeography of the groups; a special section for each family with identification tables and descriptions of the taxa included in the volume. The publication includes the species from Bulgaria identified by the author to date and some of the species known from the literature for the Balkan Peninsula that may be found in Bulgaria in the future.
