Prof. Stefan Doinov graduated from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in 1964. with a degree in history. In 1968 won a competition for a full-time graduate student at the Institute of History at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and later defended a dissertation in the field of Revival political history. In 1996 he defended the title of Doctor of Historical Sciences, and in 1997 - Assoc. I st. (Professor) at the Institute of History - BAS. He has published dozens of monographs, studies and articles.
