Petar Gecov
Petar Getsov was born in 1950 in the village of Samovodene, Veliko Tarnovo region. He graduated from the G. Benkovski University of Higher Education. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the Military Technical Research Institute at the Ministry of Defense, developed and modernized military products. He is now the director and chief engineer of the second Bulgarian cosmonaut program. ballistics and aircraft control, and defended his dissertation for a doctorate in technical sciences in the same specialty in 2012. He has published 5 textbooks, 2 monographs and more than 160 scientific papers. and articles and reports. He has lectured at four universities and colleges in the country and abroad.
There are over 65 rationalizations, patents and licenses, 11 of which have been implemented and have a significant economic effect. Prof. P. Getsov is in the editorial boards of the journals "Aerospace Research in Bulgaria" and "Remote Methods for Exploring the Earth from Space". He is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics and the New York Academy of Sciences. He is Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Astronautical Society. He was awarded many orders and medals for his services in the exploration of outer space.
