The collection, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the prominent folklorist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stoyanka Boyadzhieva, features 23 authors with 21 texts, who develop the scientific fields outlined in the works of the jubilee, and further develop her observations and ideas: the diverse incarnations of folklore literature and its relationship to other verbal forms, the multifaceted manifestations of stories and storytelling, the various local communities and their traditions, the classic triad myth - ritual - holiday, the connection between birthplace and identity. The authors share field observations from different regions of Bulgaria and beyond, as well as from the virtual space, which is becoming an increasingly important environment for the existence of folklore forms and the course of cultural processes. Both classical folkloristic themes and approaches are represented, as well as more broadly oriented analyses using the methods of ethnology, social and cultural anthropology, linguistics, literary history, media studies, etc. Thus, the collection in its entirety reflects the imprint left by Stoyanka Boyadzhieva in our scientific tradition, as well as the current searches of the college in the field of human sciences.
