Summary
Various surgical approaches play an important role in the treatment of adrenal tumors due to the deep topographical anatomical location of the adrenal glands in the retroperitoneal space. It is known that surgical intervention in these tumors is accompanied by pronounced hemodynamic and metabolic disorders. The main determining factors in choosing the optimal surgical access are the size of the tumor and its morphological type. It is a fact that endoscopic treatment of adrenal diseases has now completely replaced open surgery with its time-proven advantages. When choosing a specific surgical approach, there is still a moment when time is needed to overcome the learning curve, but once established in a given surgical unit, it leads to minimization and, in some cases, to no conversions to open surgery. However controversial and heterogeneous the opinions of different authors may be regarding the various minimally invasive approaches to the treatment of the adrenal glands, one thing is clear: they improve the quality of life of patients through faster recovery, and this is the main factor in human health.
