In the textbook "Chemical Thermodynamics," the basic principles of thermodynamics are applied to the study of the conditions for establishing equilibrium in material (physicochemical) systems—ideal gases, real gases, multicomponent systems, multiphase systems, and systems placed in an electric field. The peculiarities of thermodynamics, considered as a method in physical chemistry, are presented, with the Gibbs approach – the use of chemical potentials – being systematically applied. The publication is intended for students of chemical engineering and metallurgical universities, as well as for all students who study or are interested in physical chemistry. It can also be used by doctoral students, chemistry teachers, and specialists interested in methods for studying thermodynamic quantities and applying the thermodynamic approach in their work.
