In the case of this monograph, it is therefore necessary to synthetically define the concept of the assistance (care) method in Poland, as its component is the social assistance system. The assistance (care) method is the oldest of the three methods distinguished. It applies to people in difficult life situations who are unable to overcome crises on their own, and the state offers them not only financial assistance, but also in-kind assistance and services from public funds.
